Each year Zonta Warwick stands with women and girls around the world for the 16 Days of Activism to End Gender-Based Violence.
From 25 November to 10 December, we light up Warwick in orange—the colour of a brighter future—through banners, illuminated landmarks, and our iconic Orange Ladies displays.
These actions raise awareness, spark conversations, and share vital information about where to find help.
By joining in and showing support, our community sends a powerful message: violence against women and children is never acceptable.
Each year, Zonta Warwick members and friends gather for a Birthing Kit Assembly Day—a hands-on event that saves lives. In a few hours, volunteers assemble 400 sterile birthing kits containing essentials like plastic sheeting, gloves, soap, cord ties and a sterile blade.
These kits are sent to countries where clean birthing supplies are scarce, helping mothers and babies avoid infection and complications.
The day is filled with teamwork, conversation and purpose, reflecting our club’s commitment to support safe motherhood and care for women we may never meet.
Each March, Zonta Warwick hosts its much-anticipated International Women’s Day (IWD) Breakfast, bringing the community together to celebrate the achievements of women and inspire future change.
Over a shared breakfast, guests hear from engaging speakers—local leaders, innovators and changemakers—who highlight progress and challenges in advancing gender equality.
More than just a morning gathering, the IWD Breakfast is a vibrant tradition that fosters connection, sparks ideas and reaffirms our commitment to creating a world where every woman can thrive.
Each year, Zonta Warwick proudly presents the Young Women in Leadership Award to recognise an outstanding local student who demonstrates initiative, compassion and the courage to lead.
The award celebrates young women who are making a positive difference—whether through school, sport, community service or creative projects—and encourages them to keep building their leadership skills. Along with public recognition, recipients receive support to further their education or community initiatives.
The winner will be automatically eligible for one of 2 district awards and the international award. For more information, visit Zonta International.
By highlighting these inspiring role models, the award reflects Zonta’s mission to empower the next generation of women to shape a more equal and inclusive future.
Each year, Zonta Warwick proudly offers the Young Woman's Bursary, a $750 award granted annually to a Year 10 student to support her educational journey into Year 11.
This bursary recognises potential, ambition, and a commitment to learning, helping ease the financial burden of continuing studies. It’s one of the ways we invest in the future of young women in our community—empowering them to pursue their goals with confidence and support.
Submit your application online until 24th of October.
Through the Hermitage School Science competition, which is held annually in Warwick, we support a girl from a regional school to attend a Science Experience of their choice. This is an achievement-based award for a girl in year 9 or 10 who has demonstrated sound scientific knowledge. This opens up avenues for future STEM careers for girls who may not have access to all the programs offered to students in urban areas.
As a complementary activity, Zonta Warwick is available to support a young woman from our area to apply for the District and International Young Women in STEM awards. These awards are for women, aged 18-35 years old at the time of application, who demonstrate groundbreaking research, pioneering discoveries and/or exemplary contributions to advancing knowledge and innovation in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) field of study or industry. For more information and the application form, go to Zonta International STEM Award.
By recognising academic achievement, creativity, and community involvement, the award encourages future innovators to follow their ambitions and break barriers in traditionally male-dominated fields.
Through this award, we aim to inspire the next generation of female scientists and leaders, and to show that careers in STEM are exciting, achievable, and vital for our shared future.
Zonta Warwick works year-round to shine a light on issues affecting women and girls.
Through visible initiatives like the 16 Days of Activism, informative guest speakers, media engagement, and community events, we share resources and start conversations about domestic violence, mental health, education, and equality.
We do our best to help women access the right services and support at the right time, so no one feels alone or unsure of where to turn.
By raising awareness and linking people with help, we aim to create a safer, stronger, and more informed community.
Giving back to the community is at the heart of everything we do at the Zonta Warwick Club.
From hands-on workshops like EmpowerHER—designed to help 16-year-old girls build confidence and self-belief—to supporting local organisations, providing valuable books to local schools like the "Little Big Chats", and others through donations and volunteer hours, we’re committed to making a meaningful impact.
Whether it’s mentoring, mobilising resources, or simply showing up, we strive to uplift women and girls in practical, lasting ways.
