At our monthly meetings, we regularly welcome guest speakers who share their knowledge, experiences, and inspiration. We seek out local women and men who are making a difference for women and girls—whether by addressing issues such as domestic violence, homelessness, and mental health, or by inspiring us with unique achievements and fresh perspectives. These talks help strengthen our understanding of community needs and spark ideas for positive change.
At our October meeting, we had the pleasure to have Anne Wilson from SDRAMN (Southern Downs Refugee and Migrant Network) who told us what they do to help new migrants and refugees who move to the Southern Downs region.
At our recent meeting we enjoyed hearing from Susan Mackie, a talented author and local resident. Susan shared insights into the life of a writer and revealed how she discovers inspiration for her stories, leaving us all motivated and intrigued by her creative journey.
We welcomed guest speaker Cathy Cazaly, the inspiring founder of the Community Van, a fully community-supported Sunday night meal service for those in need. Her dedication has created a warm and welcoming initiative that nourishes both body and spirit—a truly remarkable project worthy of our admiration and support.
The 2025 Young Women in Leadership Award recipient, Isabella, joined our monthly meeting on Tuesday evening. She captivated members with an update on her journey since winning the award, sharing her achievements and the inspiring ways she continues to make a difference.
